Father dear,

With September 11, the conflict in Israel, the rumblings of war way out in the Arabic States, the Washington sniper, the Bali bombing and now, the shootings on the Clayton campus of Monash University, do you suppose you could manage a double rainbow every day this week to cheer everyone up, and maybe a little angelic communication for those in pain and confusion?

Think I'll go light a candle tomorrow, and maybe say a round of rosary to Our Lady. To be doubly sure that I and mine are safe, I'm inscribing power symbols on everyone and everything I come in contact with.

And while you're at it, I don't suppose you could manage some rain too? I hear we're facing water restrictions this summer.
