Political divides

He's Labour, she's Liberal, and ever since Mark Latham became the leader of the opposition in a caucus vote on Tuesday, they will not stop talking politics. I, who despise the "power broking", sly-ness and the complicated networking of politics, find it somewhat frustrating, but amusing.

Frustrating, because I share an office with both of them and I cannot work with chatter going around me. Amusing, because they are poles apart in political beliefs and yet they've bonded over the very thing that makes them different. Of course, the characteristics of student politics, be it Labour or Liberal, are the same. As far as I can gather, politics at the tertiary level is all about numbers and no one likes anyone very much.

It sounds rather like sibling rivalry of sorts?
